7 Fourth of July events for the family to enjoy in Phoenix

Happy Independence Day weekend!

If you're looking for a fun way to celebrate the holiday with family, we've compiled some family-friendly events happening around the Valley. 

Some of these events have fireworks, but some don't. If you're looking for fireworks, make sure to check out our full list. We found over 30 firework shows happening throughout the Valley.

Meet Wonder Woman & Captain America (July 1)

The Shops at Norterra are hosting a Fourth of July event with Wonder Woman and Captain America. Both will be there to take pictures. Organizers also have games, dancing and music planned, as well as food and drink.

Fourth of July weekend at Wet 'n' Wild (June 30 - July 3)

As if you needed more incentives to want to spend the day at the water park (hint: it's hot during the summer), Wet 'n' Wild is hosting a dive-in movie and fireworks over the Fourth of July weekend. On June 30 and July 1 the park will be showing the animated movie, Hotel Transylvania 2. On July 3, there will be a fireworks show!

Arcadia Fourth of July Parade (July 4)

An Arcadia neighborhood has hosted a small Fourth of July parade since 1996. This year, the parade continues.

Make a firework painting with forks and paint (July 4)

Create a firework display with paint and forks at the Children's Museum of Phoenix on the Fourth of July. Once that's done, check out the dozens of exhibits to play with and on at the museum.

Phoenix Zoo

Fourth of Zooly (July 4)

Celebrate the Fourth of July and watch Tempe’s fireworks show from the Phoenix Zoo. There will be a catered barbecue dinner, free carousel rides, special animal guest appearances, inflatable bounce houses and live entertainment. You’ll watch the show from the back of the zoo.

Splash Bash

July 4th Splash Bash (July 4)

Spend the Fourth of July at the pool. Litchfield Park's annual Splash Bash will take place at the Recreational Center. Besides cooling off in the water, there will be relay races, cannonball contests and penny tosses. Love watermelon? That'll be there, too, along with water balloons and a DJ.

Independence Day celebration at Ultra Star (July 4)

UltraStar Multi-tainment Center is hosting a big Independence Day celebration that has fun for the entire family. Once the sun sets, there will be a fireworks display followed by the screening of Transformers. It's all FREE. So bring your blankets and a movie and sit outside for fireworks and a show. There will be concessions available for purchase. If you show up between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m., there will be an outdoor BBQ ($17 for adults, $9 for kids).

Butterfly Wonderlandh

Fourth of July at Butterfly Wonderland (July 4)

Spend the day at Butterfly Wonderland. You'll be able to see more than 3,000 butterflies in the largest butterfly pavilion in the nation or catch a film in the 3D theatre or check out the Rivers of Amazon or honey bees exhibits. On July 4, if you wear red, white and blue, or are in the military (bring ID), you'll receive $3 off admission.
