...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT MARICOPA AND PINAL COUNTIES
THROUGH 600 PM MST...
At 531 PM MST, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Mesa, moving north at 20 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Mesa, Scottsdale, Gilbert, Apache Junction, Fountain Hills, East
Mesa, Granite Reef Dam, Falcon Field Airport, Downtown Mesa, Usery
Mountain Park, Superstition Springs Mall, Freestone Park, Salt River
Tubing Recreation Area, and Saguaro Lake.
This includes the following highways...
US Highway 60 between mile markers 180 and 194.
AZ Route 87 between mile markers 172 and 177, and between mile
markers 179 and 194.
AZ Route 202 between mile markers 14 and 34.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
