Drivers need to plan ahead for some closures and lane restrictions on Valley freeways this weekend.

The Arizona Department of Transportation recommends drivers consider alternate routes or adjust travel schedules and use caution in work zones while the following restrictions are in place:

Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) off-ramps temporarily closed (one at a time) in areas between Loop 101 (Price Freeway) and Broadway Road in Mesa from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday (Feb. 27-28) for sign and pavement marking work. Expect individual off-ramps to be closed for approximately one hour each time. DETOUR: Please be prepared to use other nearby exit ramps if necessary.

Northbound Loop 101 (Pima Freeway) off-ramp at Shea Boulevard in Scottsdale closed overnight from 10 p.m. Friday to 7 a.m. Saturday (Feb. 27) for widening project. Northbound Loop 101 on-ramp and southbound off-ramp at Shea Boulevard closed overnight from 10 p.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Sunday (Feb. 28) for widening project. DETOUR: Please consider using other nearby ramps, including those at 90th Street or Cactus Road.

Northbound Interstate 17 narrowed to one lane overnight between 7th Avenue and Adams Street from 9 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday (Feb. 29) for pavement repair. Northbound I-17 on- and off-ramps in the area will also be closed at times. DETOUR: Consider using westbound I-10 in downtown Phoenix area as alternate overnight freeway route.
