Expect a lot of congestion and road closures downtown this weekend, as the Phoenix Comicon is going on at at the Phoenix Convention Center from Thursday, June 2, through Sunday, June 5.
The following street will be closed from 6 a.m. on Wednesday, June 1, through 6 a.m. on Monday, June 6:
• Third Street – Monroe to Washington streets
During this event, Third Street through traffic will be detoured at Van Buren Street to First or Seventh streets.
The following street will be closed from 10 a.m. on Friday, June 3, through 6 a.m. on Sunday, June 5:
• Adams Street – First to Second streets
The following street will be closed from 8 a.m. on Thursday, June 2, through 1 a.m. on Friday, June 3:
• Central Avenue – Washington to Jefferson streets (CityScape)
During this event, Central Avenue through traffic will be detoured at Jefferson Street to Second Street.
Police officers will be on-site to assist with traffic control.
All streets will be open to normal traffic by 6 a.m. on Monday, June 6.
