Arizona Cardinals quarterback Carson Palmer is mild-mannered off the field but as an intense a competitor as you'll find during games.
Case in point: After he scored on a game-winning 8-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter of the Cards' 19-13 win at the San Francisco 49ers -- by far the longest TD run of his 13-year pro career -- he aggressively spiked the football in celebration.
The only problem was it was a bit too aggressive, as he took himself down along with the football.
Nobody open? Carson Palmer will run it in for SIX and then spike the football...and himself. #AZvsSF #CarsonSPIKE https://t.co/gvT78RYnt7

If you have issue with Cam Newton's TD celebrations, you're really going to hate Carson Palmers. pic.twitter.com/KV4RMUADhJ

Cardinals fans collectively held their breath for the several seconds it took Palmer to get back up. Fortunately, the veteran QB and regular-season MVP candidate was OK.
Nice run, Carson! Please don't ever do it again.
