Heading to Camp Tontozona to watch the Arizona State Sun Devils football team practice this week? The team has provided important driving and parking instructions, as well as a list of prohibited items, for the camp, which will begin Monday.
Practice will take place every day between Monday through Saturday, with the exception of Friday, and will begin each day at 9 a.m. and end between 11:30 a.m. and noon. In the case of inclement weather, a practice may be rescheduled for Friday.
Here's what you need to know:
-If you're coming from the Phoenix area or Payson, keep right on SR 260 once you leave Sun Valley. Merge to the right as you approach mile marker 267, and follow signs to the designated parking area.
-If you're coming westbound on SR 260, turn left at Kohl's Ranch Road. The Gila County Sheriff's Office will assist with traffic turning across SR 260. Do not use Christopher Creek Road or Spring Creek Road.
-Parking attendants will be available at entrance locations to direct guests to the correct parking areas.
-During Saturday's practice, parking will be located in a closed section on the eastbound side of SR 260 near Camp Tontozona Road. ASU urges fans to follow parking signs, message boards and speed limits on the way.
-Guests with a disabled placard or license plate will be directed to park along Camp Tontozona Road. A limited number of shuttle carts will be available with those who need assistance, though ASU notes there could be a significant wait for those carts.
-A large crowd is expected, so ASU asks fans to make the trip early and carpool if possible.
-Pop-up tents, alcohol, glass containers and pets are not allowed on Camp Tontozona grounds.
-Fans should be prepared for rain, which is possible throughout the week.
