The Arizona Cardinals will interview former Miami Dolphins head coach Adam Gase on Wednesday for their vacant head coaching position, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Monday.

The 40-year-old Gase was the Dolphins' head coach from 2016-18 and posted a 23-25 record, including a 7-9 mark in the 2018 season. But the Dolphins fired Gase on Monday.

Schefter reported the interview with be Gase's first of the new year. Several other NFL teams are expected to interview Gase for their open head coaching positions.

Gase has also served as the offensive coordinator for the Chicago Bears and Denver Broncos.

The Cardinals are also reportedly interested in Rams quarterbacks coach Zac Taylor, Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy and Saints assistant head coach Dan Campbell for the head coaching position. The Cardinals fired Steve Wilks on Monday after just one year as head coach, after the Cardinals posted an NFL-worst 3-13 record.
