Everything your parents taught you about eating raw cookie dough has just been checked.
“It’s a new concept. It’s kind of a new dessert. It’s very fun and whimsical,” said Kendra Scheer, VP of Doughification at Scoopwell’s Dough Bar.
Instead of ice cream, Scoopwell’s Dough Bar at Uptown Plaza in Phoenix, Ariz. is scooping up raw cookie dough to eat.
“The fun part is, it’s all safe to eat without baking,” said Kendra.
They use pasteurized eggs and heat-treated flour so you can bake it or eat it raw.
“We have 12 flavors here. And while we have your classics we have some fun twists on different flavors as well. My personal favorite is oatmeal M&M. It’s salty and a little sweet,” said Kendra.
Kendra and her husband John opened Scoopwell’s Dough Bar after moving to Phoenix from New York City. Even in the store’s infancy, this cookie dough haven is a hit.
“[It’s] something fun for you to come in with your family, get a little treat, and hopefully, you leave feeling a little happier,” said Kendra.
Sorry Mom, there’s no guilt at Scoopwell’s Dough Bar — only guilty pleasure.
