Two stations on the London Underground have been reopened after reports of a man with a knife prompted evacuations during rush hour on Wednesday.

A British Transport Police spokesman told The Sun that they received reports of a man with a knife at the Bank Station. After a search, police found "no trace of the man." Officials later confirmed that the incident was "now over," and all stations have reopened.

The station was full of evening passengers at the time, throwing the city's rush hour commute into chaos.

According to the Central Line's Twitter account, the train service is experiencing "severe delays" due to an earlier police investigation.

The Bank Station has since been re-opened.
