Tucson woman pleads guilty in triple-fatal crash

An Arizona woman has admitted that she caused a crash in the western North Dakota oil patch that killed three men during the summer.

Court records show that 20-year-old Kayla Ciha, of Tucson, has pleaded guilty to three felony counts of negligent homicide and one misdemeanor count of aggravated reckless driving.

Authorities say Ciha caused a crash on a McKenzie County road on July 30 while trying to pass a pickup truck in a no-passing zone. The crash killed men from North Dakota, Michigan and Idaho, and injured one other man. Ciha wasn't hurt.

The Williston Herald previously reported that Ciha had been working at a preschool in Williston.

Northwest District Judge Robin Schmidt has set Ciha's sentencing hearing for March 30.
