PHOENIX — Sonora Quest Laboratories is releasing its own coronavirus data from statewide testing.

The company released information Tuesday morning with data current as of Monday morning. It showed a current daily positive rate of about 20%, with an overall positive rate of 9.17%.

Arizona Department of Health Services, which reports numbers from multiple laboratories as well as its own, has reported a 7% positive rate among all people tested in Arizona, according to Monday numbers.

Experts: State hospitals could hit capacity in July

Among the positive tests, Sonora Quest results showed a majority of patients were symptomatic. Slightly more women than men overall tested positive, though the age group of 22-44 for both genders was drastically higher than other age groups.

The company also offers antibody testing. Those numbers released by Sonora Quest Tuesday showed an overall positive rate of 3.31%.

Sonora Quest says it will provide coronavirus testing data every day going forward.

An Associated Press analysis found Arizona had a rolling average of fewer than 400 new cases a day at the time the shutdown was lifted May 15, but it shot up two weeks later and surpassed 1,000 new cases a day by early this week.

Last week, Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey reiterated that state and local hospitals are prepared to respond as the number of positive coronavirus cases in our state continues to rise.
