You always hear that you should probably unplug to unwind in nature, but maybe you don't need to do that. A new app in Arizona is hoping you actually plug in instead.
"If the Amazing Race and Pokemon Go had a love child, Outdoor Adventure Quest would be it," says Lindsey Beres. Beres founded Outdoor Adventure Quest, an interactive app that's more like a competition.
It sees which team in Arizona can visit as many places as possible in a weekend with a phone, accumulating points along the way.
Besides being fun, Arizona State Parks says it's a good economic boost for some communities that don't get as much attention.
"I think the beauty of it, it gets people from Phoenix, Tucson, anywhere in the state -- it gets them out to explore other parts of the state," says Glenn Schlottman with Arizona State Parks.
Teams win based on points, creativity, photography and a surprise category. The app highlights 12 different outdoor sports from hiking to the more extreme.
