First, he says harvest rainwater with rain gutters. I know, it seems like a waste in the desert but you’d be surprised at how much water you can collect from your roof.
Depending on the size of your garden, you can get away with only using rainwater in the winter.
Jake also says use wood chips in the landscape because it keeps the water from evaporating too quickly. Jake showed us how underneath the wood chips, his soil was still moist.
The best part of using wood chips is that many landscape companies will give them to you for free!
