Was the holiday weekend just not long enough for you? If you're feeling like you need a vacation and want to plan a trip, here are some great tips!

You're probably familiar with the big-name sites like Expedia, Kayak, Google Flights, among many others. However, when it comes to booking bargain flights, you should also check out Skyscanner, Adioso, and Volaris! All three sites tout some of the lowest prices and biggest savings to unique destinations.

Your best bet is to compare flight prices and get creative in your research. Try booking two one-way flights, and keep an eye out for flash sales, but be careful! Really read the verbiage. Many flash sales say, "starting at," and that means you'll either be limited with restrictions on specific dates to fly or there might not be as many flights available at that rate.

Thrillist has a TON of other tips. If you want to work in exchange for food and lodging while you're away, you can check out sites like HelpX, Workaway, and WWOOF! Sites like HouseCarers and MindMyHouse allow you to essentially pay a small annual membership rate to stay at a home and house-sit for FREE.
