Crave Grounds in Scottsdale just opened 18 months ago and is locally owned and operated. It's for donut lovers, a family adventure, coffee aficionados, and everyone in the community!
Their motto is, "Crave Grounds: Home of the little donuts and big coffee." Though, I would like to argue that those deep-fried, bite-sized pieces of goodness are the ones packing the punch!
They have three kinds of mini donuts. They have sugared donuts, with standard cinnamon sugar, powdered sugar, for example. Then, they have six different icings to make frosted donuts. If you want to get fancy, they can add wild toppings for all kinds of flavors like Apple Pie, Oreo, S'mores, Cinnamon Roll, Unicorn, Rainbow, Maple Bacon, Strawberry French Toast and more- 35 flavors to be exact!

Crave Grounds has all kinds of coffee options too. Owner Jim Murphy told us, "The coffee is excellent, I believe, because I came up with it," he said with a giggle. His smile grew as he continued, "It's a four-bean blend which is a lot of work, but I think it's perfect. It comes with our espresso, it's our cold brew as well, and it's our house medium roast coffee. It's a fantastic!"
To give you an idea of price, a small drip is $1.95, a small latte is $3.10, and other drinks range up to $7.
As for the donuts, you can actually buy them individually, in a 6-pack or in a dozen. The range for all three tiers of donut go from 95 cents for one mini to $14.20 for a dozen tiny donuts.

Murphy used to teach at Dobson High School in Mesa for 10 years. He became passionate about coffee, and wanted to create something unique! "No one was doing mini donuts. So, that's when I saw an opening of something in The Valley we could bring that would be a first and an only. So, that's where the mini donuts were born."
I had to ask what their secret ingredient is. Murphy laughed boisterously, and continued, "I always say love.. it sounds so hilarious.. but we really care about our customers." Murphy told us that the staff is what sets them apart. They connect with the community. We witnessed firsthand. They learn the customer's names and orders, build relationships with them, and make people feel special.
In case you're curious, they do come out with seasonal flavors as well. There is no release date, but the next flavor to come will be Pumpkin Glaze.
If you're interested in catering, Crave Grounds has done weddings, school events, and other events, and they can customize the donuts. They even served former Bachelor Arie, catering to one of his parties.
