A swarm of bees was evicted from the grounds of a fire station Tuesday night.

According to the Sun City Fire Department, a Circle K manager near the fire station at 99th Avenue and Bell Road called 911 to report bees were getting aggressive and a few people had been stung.

Firefighters investigated and traced the bees to the back end of their property, where they had set up inside a shipping container.

A beekeeper was called to clear the gathering and those who had been stung did not need to go to the hospital, firefighters said.

The bees formed a hive four inches thick that ran nearly the length of the container.

Officials estimated between 5,000 and 10,000 bees were on the property.
