MCSO: Suspect in Peoria fire, burglary arrested

Posted

The suspect in a home invasion and house fire earlier this month has been booked into jail.

Maricopa County Sheriff's Office detectives confirmed Friday night 37-year-old Andrew Lynn was out of the hospital and had been booked into jail.

A listing on the sheriff's office's website says Lynn is in custody for endangerment in connection with an incident early on the morning of April 7. Investigators say a homeowner living near 75th Avenue and Acoma woke up to find a man setting fire to his home with a blowtorch.

The homeowner, Dave Bowers, said his house alarm woke him up. He admitted to shooting the intruder after a struggle, after his carpet had been set on fire.

Flames destroyed Bowers' property and displaced several people renting out rooms from him. One person, 73-year-old Steve Krzyzewski, died as a result of the fire.

Lynn was found a few blocks away and taken to the hospital.

Specific charges against him were not available as of Friday night.
