A fire in Peoria left one man injured, his truck badly damaged and his garage completely charred.

According to the Peoria Fire-Medical Department, a fire erupted in a garage inside a home near 90th Avenue and Deer Valley Road around 12:40 p.m.

When firefighters arrived, the garage was fully engulfed in flames.

Crews were able to extinguish the fire and contain it to just the garage.

Damage was done to the interior of the home, but mostly just from smoke damage, officials said.

Witnesses told fire crews that a neighbor noticed smoke coming from the garage and told the homeowner about it. The man tried to take his truck out of the garage before the fire fully spread, but his truck was still badly damaged.

The man suffered minor burns and smoke inhalation and was transported to a hospital for treatment.

Investigators are still trying to determine the cause of the fire. No other information is currently available.
