PD: Glendale woman bites off man's ear

Posted

A Glendale woman grew so enraged with her ex-boyfriend that she punched him in the face and bit off part of his ear.

Court documents show that in the late evening of Jan. 30, the victim and his ex-girlfriend, 28-year-old Anntisha Honwytewa, were at an apartment complex near 55th Avenue and Camelback Road. They agreed to meet to discuss their recent break up and visit a mutual friend.

While they were still in the parking lot of the Glendale apartment complex, police say things turned ugly. Honwytewa became so angry she punched her ex-boyfriend several times in the face, giving him a bloody mouth.

She also bit him in the left ear in an attack that was so violent, police described it this way, “A large portion of the left ear was removed causing permanent disfigurement."

As Honwytewa was being placed in custody, but before police said anything about the victim's injuries, Honwytewa told them, "I did not bite him."

Honwytewa has a prior 2013 conviction for assault, and is now facing a new charge of aggravated assault causing disfigurement.
