ABC15 obtained new information about a case of crimes that escalated to the point of getting violent before the criminals ever wound up behind bars.

For a month, several men terrorized a park near 34th and Campbell avenues. With time and practice, they got bolder.

Alberto Favela dished out dirty details on five hits that he participated in. The first two were back to back involving the theft of skateboards and phones from unsuspecting victims who were walking in Cielito Park.

Two weeks later, he and an accomplice came back to the park and held a woman at gunpoint demanding keys to her car. They also demanded cash. ABC15 cameras were rolling when police arrested Favela's accomplice. Police were able to retrieve the woman's vehicle.

Favela said he and his accomplish targeted the woman because they thought she was in the medical field as she was wearing medical scrubs at the time of the attack.

The very next night, the pair committed another carjacking, this time taking a van near 75th Avenue and Camelback Road.

However, hours after the carjacking the van got a flat tire and someone who stopped to help the criminals became their next, and final, target.

It's an important lesson for all to always report crimes, no matter how small they may be.
