It was a busy day for bees in the Valley of the Sun.

Crews were called to the scene of two bee attacks in a matter of hours Tuesday afternoon.

Around 3 p.m., an elderly was declared dead after a bee attack in Buckeye and later revived at the emergency room.

Then around 6:30 p.m., Glendale firefighters say a couple of kids playing near 63rd Avenue and Thunderbird Road got stung.

A 3-year-old boy was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

Large swarms of bees can be frightening, especially when you have young children or pets around or are allergic to stings.

Here's what you should know about bees in the Valley and who to call if you need help.
