A former Glendale elementary school teacher accused of sexually assaulting two women he met online has been sentenced to six years in prison.

Maricopa County Superior Court officials say Ryan Robert Raths also was sentenced Friday to lifetime probation with sex offender terms.

The 42-year-old Raths was arrested in November 2013 on suspicion of four counts of felony sexual assault.

He later pleaded guilty to one count of sexual assault and two counts of attempted sexual assault.

Raths was accusing of assaulting one woman in September 2004 and the other victim in October 2007.

The cases went cold before Glendale police noticed similarities in the two cases and were able to make the arrest.

Raths had been an employee of the Washington Elementary School District.
