There will be extra police presence at Youngker High School on Thursday after the school received a threat, according to Principal Randy Stillman.

A letter addressed to parents said school officials found an anonymous threat written on the wall of two restrooms on Tuesday. The threat made mention of a shooting and bombs and said it was going to occur on Thursday, Stillman said.

“Student and staff safety is the most important priority at Youngker High School. We are diligently taking every step we can to find out who the person or persons are that posted the threats to the school,” Stillman said in the letter.

The Buckeye Police Department is investigating the validity of the threat and will have extra officers on campus this week.

School officials said classes and exams will run as scheduled, but if parents decide to keep their children at home because of the threat then their absence will be excused and tests will be able to be made up at a later time.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Buckeye Police Department.
