City of Buckeye and Goodyear firefighters worked throughout the night to extinguish a 10-acre brush fire in the Gila River bottom.
Crews were called to the scene near 222nd Avenue and West Eagle Mountain Road around 9:30 p.m. on Monday.

Early Tuesday morning, officials said the fire had grown to 10 acres but that they gained control of the blaze and put out remaining hot spots.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
