Man arrested for Buckeye car burglaries

An Avondale man is behind bars, accused of burglarizing several vehicles in the Buckeye area.

Buckeye police say early Monday morning, they were patrolling the area of 203rd Avenue and Dunlap Road when they spotted 23-year-old Kevin Kimes.

Officers stopped to talk to Kimes and while they were with him, they got a call of a suspect fleeing a vehicle burglary nearby heading towards the area police found Kimes.

Police say Kimes allowed officers to check his backpack and they found paperwork belonging to someone who lived in the area inside. They also found papers belonging to others victims in Kimes' possession.

Officers also found a vehicle in the area that had miscellaneous property and ID’s belonging to different people inside the car. Keys to the car were located Kimes' possession. In addition, a cell phone belonging to one of the victims was ringing inside of the suspect's vehicle when officers called it.

Kimes was arrested and booked into Fourth Avenue jail on several felony charges.
