An Avondale man is accused of shooting and paralyzing a man after he stole his son's watch.
Court documents show that on the morning of Jan. 31, 44-year-old Young Samuel Chavez went to the victim's home near Litchfield Road and Western and shot the man with 22 caliber handgun.
The shots broke a rib, collapsing his lung and leaving the victim paralyzed.
Police say the day before, the victim and the suspect's son were at a nearby smoke shop when the victim stole the watch.
Avondale police say they did find a watch matching the description of the stolen watch at the home of the victim.
Chavez is being held without bond on charges of second degree attempted murder and aggravated assault.
