The Tempe police officer who shot and killed a 19-year-old in July of 2016 is no longer working for the department.

Last month, the Tempe Police Public Safety Personnel Retirement System Board voted 4-0 to approve Lieutenant Ed Ouimette's request for accidental disability retirement benefits.

Ouimette shot and killed Dalvin Hollins after Hollins robbed a pharmacy in July of 2016.

Tempe Police said Ouimette thought the teen was armed when he fired.

There is no video, no witnesses and Tempe Police never found a gun on the teen.

County prosecutors cleared Ouimette of any charges in April of 2017.

Ouimette and Tempe PD now face a civil lawsuit from the family of Hollins.
