The Tempe Police Department says they've now located and arrested a man who allegedly assaulted his own mother and grandmother.
Police say 37-year-old Nicholas Elkins severely beat his grandmother and mother and stole the family vehicle Tuesday.
The grandmother, who is in her eighties, is still in critical condition from the assault while the mother, in her sixties, is in serious condition.
Police say Elkins was located walking near Orange Street and Terrace Road in Tempe and was taken into custody without incident Thursday afternoon.
Police have not said what Elkin's motive was behind the assault, but did say he has a history of drug abuse.
