A girl studying at Arizona State University got an unwelcome surprise when she found an intruder hiding in her closet at 2 a.m. last week.

According to court documents, 21-year-old Ethan Robert Molinar entered the apartment at ASU near 5th Street and College Avenue around 11:45 p.m. on Feb. 12.

He made his way into the bedroom of one of the three people living there and hid in her closet.

Around 2 a.m., the resident went into her bedroom, changed clothes and returned to the kitchen to make something to eat. She then returned to her bedroom to eat, and as she was eating, she noticed her closet door slowly opening.

She thought it was her cat, but went over and found Molinar in her closet.

Molinar fled as the woman screamed and one of her roommates followed him as he walked briskly away.

The victims called security, who contacted Tempe Police. Security was able to identify Molinar and guide police to his unit in the same complex.

Molinar refused to answer any questions from police.

He is now facing three counts of criminal trespassing.
