A Tempe man’s disappearance is raising a lot of questions for his family who is asking for help bringing him home.

Twenty-two-year-old Isaac Guzman’s girlfriend, Hailey Martin, reported him missing after she came home Tuesday night to find their apartment door unlocked near Elliot and Priest.

“Our front door was unlocked. Our dog had his leash and collar still attached to him…When I went to the bathroom his phone was left there. When I went to the bedroom, I found that one of our fans was tipped over…I found that his wallet was behind a pillow and cash was missing from it,” Martin said.

Security cameras from inside the apartment complex gym catch Guzman taking out the trash around 6:20 p.m. and then he disappears. Everything left behind except his car, which is still missing.

“He’s always a happy guy,” Martin said. “Like I don’t see him purposely leaving.”

His mom, Dee Guzman, says she is worried because this is out of character for her son.

She says he would never leave without his wallet or phone and always tells people where he is. While he did take off once when he was 18, his mom says for him to be gone for so many days without telling anyone is unusual, and she is concerned.

“He’s a good kid. He’s very friendly --- outgoing, and I just don’t know if somebody took advantage of him or something,” she said.

Guzman says her son had just passed the written exam to become a police officer and was preparing for the physical exam. She also says he was planning a trip to California to visit next week.

Guzman says her son has friends and family in Mexico and California. They’ve reached out to those they know, so far, no one has seen or heard from him.

Martin adds, Guzman has a three-year-old daughter, and she is pregnant with his second child. She says the couple was scheduled to learn the sex of their child the Friday after he disappeared and says he was very excited for that day.

Guzman works at the Savor Flavor Asia restaurant in Tempe and has not been seen at work since Monday. His work also posting a “missing person’s” post on their Facebook page.

Tempe police are investigating and say right now they do not suspect foul play.

His family says they are worried and want him home.

Guzman is said to be about 5 feet 11 inches, about 215 lbs, with brown hair and eyes.

He was last seen wearing a black shirt and shorts and drives a 2015 Toyota Scion White XB.
