TEMPE, AZ — A teenager was arrested after bringing a gun to Tempe High School on Monday.

Tempe Police Department officials say the incident occurred on Monday, March 2, when a 17-year-old boy showed a female student a handgun in his backpack.

The teen then reportedly threatened another girl at the school, but did not show her the handgun.

Police say the girls told school administrators after class and the school resource officer was immediately notified.

The 17-year-old was taken into custody without incident and was booked into jail on multiple felony charges.

The handgun, which was reportedly stolen out of Phoenix, was located in the teen's backpack.
