Tempe police arrested a man last month for allegedly punching an officer.
Police said Laith Alrawashdeh, 25, was running through the road on Dec. 29 near Baseline and Hardy blocking traffic. A Tempe police officer attempted to arrest him and instead was punched in the face.
The officer used his Taser on Alrawashdeh and took him into custody with the help of two citizens.
Records show Alrawashdeh was previously arrested for allegedly assaulting his mother. In those documents, he is considered to be a danger to himself and others.
