TEMPE, AZ — Arizona State University Police issued a crime alert Thursday night after receiving a report of a sexual assault in a residential hall on the Tempe campus.
According to a tweet by police, the victim reported she had met the suspect on a social media platform.
The victim told police the suspect had gained her trust, and while in her dorm room, sexually assaulted her.
Police describe the suspect as a Hispanic male, 19 years old, 5'9 in height, 200 lbs, with black hair and brown eyes.
An arrest has not yet been made, police say.
ASU police also issued a reminder to the campus community that criminals may use social media platforms to target potential victims.
