Police officers say a man was nearly hit by a Tempe light rail train overnight while he was lying on the tracks.
The light rail reportedly stopped just before hitting the man near 3rd Street and Ash Avenue around 1:15 a.m. Sunday.
Police say the man was intoxicated and was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
No other information was immediately known.
