A single apartment unit in Tempe was destroyed by a fire Wednesday.
The fire broke out at a complex around 1:30 p.m. near Apache Boulevard and McClintock Drive.
No one was inside at the time.
Firefighters say neighbors called 911 when they say smoke and flames coming from the window.
Neighbors say they grabbed fire extinguishers to help put it out.
No one was injured.
Crews say the fire was contained to the one unit.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
