The Pinal County Sheriff’s Office says 30-year-old Charles Garcia was arrested Saturday night for sexually assaulting and photographing a 10-year-old female along with one other young girl.

Sheriff’s officials say a parent tipped law enforcement off to the crime when she discovered photos of her daughter on a SD card belonging to Garcia, who was close to the family.

The mother reportedly confronted Garcia over the phone before calling for help. Garcia then found the parent, and tried to get the SD card back from her. After physically assaulting her, Garcia drove away but was unable to get the SD card.

PCSO says deputies eventually found Garcia hiding in a trailer near Chandler Heights Road and North Gantzel Road after a concerned resident said they believed to know where he was.

Deputies used a Taser to get Garcia out of the trailer, who was believed to be armed, after he refused to come out.

PCSO says Garcia knew the family, and used that trust to get close to the two girls.

Garcia was booked on five counts of child molestation, and may face other charges as the investigation continues.
