A man has been arrested after he reportedly stole a truck in Mesa and crashed on the US 60 on Tuesday morning.

Mesa police said the stolen white pick-up truck crashed at US 60 and McClintock Drive around 3:00 a.m.

According to police, the driver of the truck crashed into the median and was arrested. Another person in the vehicle was also arrested.

The names of those taken into custody have not been released.

Juana Fernandez says the truck belongs to her brother and was taken from in front of her family's home.

She says everyone was distracted by a party and left the truck's doors unlocked.

"Everything was going great. We were celebrating a birthday in the backyard," she said. "[Then] we got the neighbor shouting in the front door that the truck had been stolen."

Four other vehicles that were left unlocked were ransacked but left in front of the house, Fernandez said.

"Lock your doors, lock your cars, and once in a while if you're at a party come out and make sure all of the vehicles are still here."
