Some parents will have to find somewhere else for their kids to go on Election Day after Red Mountain United Methodist Church Preschool decided to cancel class.

The notice went home to parents explaining the closure was based on “safety and security concerns” stemming from the election and the church's status as a polling location.

“I'm thinking about this particular election, and how crazy things have been, things that have been said and done, it kind of scared me a little bit,” said Panthea Peele, whose son attends preschool.

Administrators said the increased vehicle traffic was the main reason for the closure.

Peele says for once, she’s worried about how the adults are going to behave and not the children.
