The Town of Gilbert will not extend the contract to keep food trucks in downtown.
A Gilbert spokesperson said the town plans to build on and develop the current site near Gilbert Road and Page Avenue.
According to the spokesperson, “We will be building on and developing the current site and the growth of the Heritage District does not allow space for the food trucks as it continues to develop and expand at that location.”
The Town of Gilbert is working with the food truck operators to find other places for them to operate in Gilbert.
The food trucks have been at the location in downtown before the expansion of new restaurants in the area.
