A new device can give elderly Chandler residents and their families some piece of mind.

The Senior Lockbox Program gives first responders access to a home if the senior is in trouble and can’t get to the door or to the phone for help.

The lockboxes are free for residents who qualify.

It’s for seniors who are physically challenged or have a medical condition where they may need emergency services.

Chandler police would install the device. If they use the lockbox to enter the home in an emergency, they would also lock up the home.
