A pregnant woman has been transported to the hospital after she crashed into an apartment building in Chandler on Wednesday night.

The crash happened at an apartment complex near the Loop 101 and Elliot Road.

Amelia Pittner, who is nine months pregnant, was asleep in the apartment when the car crashed into her wall. The car hit the wall hard enough to knock over a dresser in the home. Her three kids were also home during the incident.

"It sounded like a bomb," Pittner said. "Then I realized the wall was coming into me at the same time."

Twelve-year-old Marissa Cuevas, Pittner's daughter, says when the car smashed into the building the dresser fell on top of her.

"The dresser was kind of on me and I had to kind of push it off," Cuevas said.

According to Chandler fire, the driver of the vehicle is also pregnant and had two children in her car. She was transported to the hospital as a precaution.

Now Pittner is worried about the what to expect when her unborn child comes. She's not on the lease at the apartment, which means she's not entitled to help from the Red Cross or the complex.

"I don't even have a place to come home to with a newborn baby...that's pretty upsetting," she explained.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
