September is Hunger Action Month, and St. Mary's Food Bank Alliance is giving you a chance to make a difference and have some fun at the same time.
This Friday, September 8th, anyone who brings five canned food items will get free admission to Makutu's Island (6919 West Ray Road in Chandler). The normal admission prices is $11.99 plus tax. Adult entry fees will be waived, so parents can go enjoy watching the kids play.
But, that's not all.
Each person bringing in 10 cans of canned food on Friday will get a complimentary FUNtastic Pass, which includes deals from other local businesses and free admission to Makutu's Island for the rest of the month of September.
Bottled water, packaged noodles (spaghetti, ramen, etc.) and cereal are NOT accepted for this drive.
St. Mary's says its most needed items at the moment are peanut butter, canned fruits and vegetables, and canned proteins like tuna, bean and ready-to-eat meals.
