A Chandler man is accused of downloading and sharing hundreds of videos and images of child pornography on the internet.

Detectives arrested 55-year-old David Tapia Roman on March 16. He faces 10 counts of sexual exploitation of minor, according to court paperwork.

The investigation began in February when a detective with the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office Cyber Crime unit noticed someone online sharing 163 files related to child porn.

The I.P. address linked to Roman, who had recently moved in with another family member.

Detectives served a search warrant and found a desktop computer in his room that had an external hard drive plugged in to it. On that computer, according to court records, were two folders--"under 18 pics" and "under 18 videos."

Roman reportedly admitted to detectives that he was the sole person responsible for the child pornography.

He told detectives that he had downloaded child pornography "for years" and then asked for an attorney.

He was booked into Fourth Avenue Jail.
