It's been more than a decade in the making, but soon drivers in Chandler will get some relief on McQueen Road.
Crews have been working on the road for the last ten years. Construction began near Loop 202 Santan, and this final stretch of roadway is from Chandler Heights to Riggs roads.
Starting next month, crews will work to widen the road, and add bike lanes, new landscape, sidewalks and streetlights.
Business owners in the area are hoping that more cars on the roads will translate to more customers. However, some are worried that the construction will hurt business until the work is complete in eight months.
Residents can attend a public meeting about the construction on Tuesday, March 29, at 6 p.m. at the Hamilton Branch Library in Chandler.
