A Chandler-based company is celebrating the holidays in a unique way.
On Thursday morning, Healthways kicked off their annual Holiday Helping Spree.
According to a company spokesperson, instead of having a extravagant holiday party, the company puts $20,000 towards a charitable shopping spree for its 300 employees.
It was Bonnie Schirato's first time taking part in the event, which has been ongoing for the past 17 years.
"This is really cool," Schirato said. "I haven't done this before because I'm relatively new to the organization and this is the day all of our colleagues look forward to."
Employees took to the aisles of a Chandler Walmart and shopped for items like toiletries, clothing and other home goods.
The products were donated to Foundation for Seniors and Santa for Seniors.
