Chandler Fire: 8-year-old dead after being pulled from pool

CHANDLER, AZ - Chandler Police are reminding people to watch kids and vulnerable adults around water. 

The Chandler Fire Department says an 8-year-old is dead after being pulled from a Chandler pool Friday night.

Chandler firefighters responded to a home near Riggs and Gilbert roads around 7 p.m. after a boy was found in the pool by the homeowner.

According to Chandler Fire the pool that the boy was in did not have a fence. 

A Chandler police spokesman says, the victim’s aunt works at the home and brought him and his brother for the afternoon.

It's still unknown how the boy fell into the pool and how long he was in the water, officials said.

He did not know how to swim.
