Phoenix police are investigating after a woman was killed in a crash with a suspected impaired driver Tuesday afternoon.

Shortly before 4:45 p.m., officers responded to a collision at the intersection of 63rd Avenue and Lower Buckeye Road.

Police say a pickup truck traveling northbound collided with an SUV traveling westbound.

The driver and passenger of the pickup truck were taken to the hospital after the crash.

The passenger, 47-year-old Lori Ann Alvarado, was pronounced dead, according to police.

Police say alcohol impairment is suspected on the 47-year-old driver of the pickup truck. He is expected to survive his injuries, police said.
