Phoenix police and Silent Witness are asking for the public's help in identifying a man who robbed a west Phoenix hotel at gunpoint.

Authorities say on May 20 just after 10 p.m., a man described as being 20 to 25 years old walked into the America's Best Value Inn near 51st Avenue and McDowell Road.

The suspect asked if there was a bathroom he could use and after an employee said there was not, he walked up to the counter and pointed a handgun at the clerk.

Police say the suspect demanded money from the register and then fled on foot from the hotel in an unknown direction.

The suspect is described as 5 feet, 7 inches tall and weighing 210 pounds.

He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt, white shorts, a black and white sleeve on his right elbow, and a black San Francisco Giants baseball hat. He was armed with a black handgun.

If you have any information on the identity of this man or this incident you are asked to call 480-WITNESS. You can remain anonymous.
