Officials are searching for a shoplifting suspect who crashed into a swimming pool in a Phoenix neighborhood Friday morning.
Phoenix police said officers saw a suspect jump into a vehicle and drive from a parking lot at a high rate of speed on Friday morning.
Officers attempted to stop the vehicle but the suspect quickly drove into a neighborhood.
According to police, the suspect crashed into a block wall and ended up partially inside a swimming pool near 59th Avenue and Palm Lane.
A woman and a 3-year-old were in the back seat of the vehicle at the time of the incident. They were not injured.
The suspect fled the scene on foot. He has been identified and police are still searching for him.
Another man associated with the incident was arrested and booked for shoplifting. He has not been identified.
