A man has been taken into custody after a domestic violence situation in west Phoenix.
Phoenix police said the incident started near 47th Avenue and Van Buren Street when an officer received a report of a suspect dragging a woman in a parking lot.
When officers arrived on the scene they found a man and woman inside a vehicle. The suspect appeared to be “holding down” the woman in the car while driving.
According to police, the suspect initially refused to stop for officers but eventually stopped near 59th Avenue and Thomas Road.
Once the vehicle stopped, the suspect ran from officers and a perimeter was set up. He was taken into custody a short time later, police said.

The victim was not seriously injured and she is not cooperating with police.
